William At The Rugby

William joined 74,000 rugby fans on Saturday November 7th as Wales were beaten 19-12 by New Zealand inside The Millennium Stadium. The Prince, who is Vice Royal Patron of the Welsh Rugby Union, attended the match from which all fundraising proceeds will go to The Royal British Legion in The Principality of Wales. Prior to kick-off, William met Welsh veterans from the Second World War and other conflicts, along with volunteers and case workers from The Legion. At half-time our Prince also met injured service personnel from all three Welsh Regiments: The Queen's Dragoon Guards, The Royal Welsh Regiment and The Welsh Guards. While after the game, William met in private with the daughter and son-in-law of the late Sir Tasker Watkins, who was president of the Welsh Rugby Union between 1993 and 2004. Cardiff Games Plan

The City of Cardiff is planning a bid to host The Commonwealth Games in 2022. The Principality's capital city would become the central base, but facilities in both Swansea and Newport would also be used. Full BBC report about this planned bid by here.
